Fast-spinning, egg-shaped dwarf planet with its own ring and two moons.
No small telescope will show you this one; it is here to be understood, not spotted.
Haumea is roughly one eighth as wide as Earth.
Haumea orbits on average about 43 times as far from the Sun as Earth does.
Haumea takes about 283 Earth years to go once round the Sun.
Haumea turns round once in about 3.9 hours; Earth takes about 24 hours.
Haumea has roughly 1/547 the volume of Earth.
On Haumea you would weigh roughly 1/23 of what you weigh on Earth.
Its size: 2,100 × 1,680 × 1,074 km along its three axes (mean radius about 780 km), stretched into an egg by its fast spin.

| Mean diameter | about 1,600 km |
|---|---|
| Distance from the Sun, on average | 43.06 AU · 6.442 billion km · sunlight takes 5 hours 58 minutes |
| Once round its orbit | 282.6 Earth years |
| Sunrise to sunrise | 3.915 hours |
We use a mean diameter of about 1,600 km, from the shape fitted to its light curve and to the 2017 occultation (Dunham et al. 2019). The occultation on its own gives 1,595 km (Ortiz et al. 2017).
